Leading with Clarity and Care

Guided creative teams to deliver clarity, cohesion, and cross-platform impact.

The Starting Point

When I joined Pearson’s Enterprise Learning & Skills division, I was the lone designer supporting a fast-moving marketing team within the business unit. Creative work was distributed across different teams and tools, and while there was no shortage of talent, the lack of shared systems made collaboration and consistency a challenge.

I saw an opportunity to create structure without sacrificing creativity, to build processes that could scale as the team grew, and to make design work feel easier for everyone involved.

Leading the Team

As the marketing team expanded, I led a small but powerful creative group that included a video motion designer and a production designer. Together, we built creative systems designed for scale.

  • The video designer developed a library of motion templates that streamlined video creation.

  • The production designer built a suite of social media and collateral templates that improved speed and alignment.

  • I directed the overall creative strategy, ensuring everything connected to Pearson’s evolving brand.

We were a lean team that delivered like an agency inside a global company. Our work balanced speed, quality, and clarity.

The Work

The best creative work happens when people feel supported. I led a team that reimagined how we collaborate, create, and share ideas across marketing.

We redesigned the Credly website, aligning it with Pearson’s brand while improving how users experienced it. We refreshed collateral across the business unit, ensuring every piece connected back to the main brand story.

To make our systems stronger, we built a centralized marketing hub that housed all brand assets, templates, and campaign materials for our business unit and its sub-brands. Our team also improved a creative project management system in, giving everyone visibility into timelines, deliverables, and resources.

More than the assets we produced, I’m proud of the systems and trust we built. Together, we turned a fragmented creative process into something cohesive, efficient, and human.

The Leadership Impact

Leadership, to me, means creating the conditions where people can do their best work. I focus on clarity, collaboration, and empathy, helping teams bring structure to creative work without losing energy or individuality.

I mentor designers, advocate for cross-functional alignment, and encourage a culture that values well-being alongside performance. My goal is to build systems that serve people and make creativity easier to access, not harder to maintain.

The Ongoing Focus

My current work centers on evolving how creative teams at Pearson collaborate and deliver. I continue to strengthen brand alignment across the Workforce Skills division, refine templates and systems, and improve how creative requests move from idea to execution.

The focus remains on balance: giving structure to creativity while keeping the human side of design at the center.
